I barter you with this ink!

This thing that dances,
At the brink of my lips
Sometimes it flashes blatantly in my eyes
Until it’s vanquished, from the hush of my lies
And then it seeks, asking for words,
To melt into lines and embrace my voice,
But, the only distance they could travel was a blank sheet…

I apportion you with this paper,
I barter you with this ink

And, all there is and all there will be,
All the bottled wishes and engraved memories,
All that I know, all that I feel,
Every letter silenced with fright,
The world of words that I cannot summon
The lines that found refuge, in hiding
And the carriage of it has sought anonymity

I apportion you with this paper,
I barter you with this ink,

Do not call me a coward,
To have chosen inscription over voice,
For, voice can be buried beneath ignorance,
Or shushed by a lethal rejection,
Or be hushed by cacophony.
While to indite, is forever beyond
To ink, is to bestay for infinity!

So I apportion you with this paper,
I barter you with this ink!

Replaced!

Nightmares replace dreams,
Loss substitutes for love,
Yours isn't yours, never was.
The dispute perhaps is, denial.
The winter snubs summer in the end,
The flowers are to freeze and wither,
We will meet again at the fate’s gate with no choice
Everything in the living world- Is Replaceable. Everybody!
The world’s a comedy, a dark comedy
You are its muse!

All I did was stood in silence!

The midnight dressed a shameful black,
When the little girl, chased and attacked
The hideous men that feasted on her
Her tiny eyes, lost in a blur
The little pink frock shred and slit
Her pale body, used, reused and quit.
Was it a rife, violated innocence
While all I did was stood in silence.

A country wed to corruption,
With no hope of redemption,
A land I called my own,
Only in words and flown
Nature and her children, in pollution drown
As routine as night and day, lives are burnt or blown
A motherland soaked in violence
While all I did was stood in silence

They were young, they we smitten
By the love bug they were bitten,
They belonged to different worlds, people hurled
And so were they hunt down, found in a blood whirl
With confidence I’d write of love, its power and presence
But all I did was stood in silence

Roads were a home, pavements the bed
With ten coins, their little tummies they’d fed
Then they wished another day never dawned
For, survival was a hope long withdrawn
They lived in scant, I frowned even in abundance
Cause, all I did was stood in silence

To someone, the world was a burial ground
To someone, life is a terrifying hound,
To someone, home is a word unknown
To someone only family is lone
To someone, food is that is thrown
To someone, God has been just a stone

What do I care of, absence or presence!
For all I did was stood in silence…
