There are limits on
the desires for dreams,
Or are there?
Aren’t they just
walls, to silence the screams,
To keep out wants,
unfair?
It’s when one reaches
the finality of what one wants,
That you grapple with
the walls of can’ts
Or are they walls or
just the boundaries we’ve drawn?
Don’t after the game,
they go back to the same box, even the king and the pawn?
The walls show no
mercy no love.
But when all one
needs, don’t they…
Shoulder a cry,
suppress the sigh, keep an unsigned vow?
And too, the questions
out of the way
When one has nothing
left to say?
Then there are walls,
tough as lies,
When hurting your
knuckles wouldn’t be wise
But devastate the wall
that now stands grown
Just in the way
fundamentally built down
Involve the logic, not
the trick
You bring them down,
brick by brick!
How exemplary can
walls built be,
That is high so to
keep a thicket turmoil free;
But also adequately
short at rest
That allows the
breeze, the sunset to nest!
As to building
confining walls in the mind,
Let’s build no walls,
but bridges that bind.
No wall be too high,
to deep, to cold,
When destiny let play
and hope to unfold.
Higher than walls are
hope we along bring,
For, to hope is after
all a very good thing!
