Here where
the ties die too fast
They say,
only a fool believes, love will last
While
destiny has a weird fashion
Everything
withers, men and their passion
Here where
dead dreams reign the kingdom
To bind
love to last forever, well seldom
What worth
is worth of a chained freedom?
Light at
the tunnel's end to see
Arrested by
hope one shall be!
Here where
substance deeply slumber
Two names
remain tied not too longer
Love's a
fool's errand I wonder!
For
happiness sought in wrong spaces to linger.
For all the
things said and done,
Though all
the hatred, the blood and bone
I look for
a perennial bond of passion
In the
quest of that uncommon fraction,
Is it a
hunt for self-destruction to bend?
Or a voyage
embarked for the immortal blend.
Be loved
and to love
Perhaps the
verdict of the stars above.
To do is
your duty, high or low
The
receipts shall or shan't follow.
Thus all
that accounts
To nothing
that counts,
So long as
you love...
As long as
you love...
I usually find it hard to follow your poetry. But, the opening stanza of this one caught me by surprise! I read the whole poem. Soon after that, i went ahead to re-read the opening stanza again. Gotta read it again. Its sober and somber at the same time. That is a quality mind at work!
ReplyDeleteNitish: Thank you so much. More of an observation this one is :)

ReplyDeletethere were a certain irony here used to extremely good effect. the irony of forever, not being for evre.
